Project Overview

This analysis is critical for zoning and planning solar installations worldwide. I was brought in to strengthen their automated testing strategy, with a focus on validating the highly interactive mapping workflows at the core of the application. By building robust test coverage around PVCASE's complex geospatial workflows, I helped the engineering team confidently ship new features without breaking critical analysis tools. The result was faster development cycles, fewer regressions, and a QA foundation that scales with the product as it continues to expand globally.

Key Features

Expanded and fully integrated their Cypress testing framework, which had only minimal coverage when I joined


Developed automation for technically challenging UI interactions, including map layers, canvas rendering, zooming, panning, and area selections


Built a reusable Page Object Model (POM) structure to simplify and scale test development across the QA team


Integrated automated tests into GitHub Actions, running against staging and production builds to gate deployments


Set up failure reporting and alerts for the QA team, ensuring new features and regression risks were quickly identified
